Year of the Rat – Corpse Grinders

Necromunda – Dark Uprising is an amazing starter set for Necromunda, not only do you get a boatload of terrain to battle over, you also get two full gangs and a bespoke campaign that you can battle out using just the starter contents or expand to include the other gangs. One of the gangs included is brand new and very different. Where most gangs have some specialisms they still share the basic core rules for building a starting gang and have a broad variety of options that let you build whatever you want to represent. The Corpse Grinder Cult is melee focused with unique composition rules and a very focused list of equipment and weapons. If you’re a face of getting into someones face and tearing them up these are your guys.

This latest gang is for one of my friends that I’m playing a Dominion Campaign with. We have for dedicated players one playing Van Saar, one playing a Helot Cult, this one and myself playing Enforcers. It seems to be a good mix and we’ve only committed to playing once a month so the campaign is going to be fairly spread out. Our first game was the Gang Moot, it was an interesting scenario because the Corpse Grinder leader could essentially stalk around killing people without alerting anyone else that the Moot had gone sideways.

These guys are a bit of a rush as they’re needed for out next session. Essentially a black and silver scheme they look very menacing. I started with a dark gray, medium gray and metallic base coat to which I applied a Nuln Oil Wash. This got me to a good starting point to start applying the details. Once that dried a liberally applied Blood for the Blood God to highlight the work these guys do.
