Who ya gonna call? Book Review

Book Review – So there was recently a kickstarter to the Ghostbusters Boardgame based on a combination of the movies, cartoon and IDW comic series. This campaign reminded me of how much I loved the franchise as a kid and made me eager to devour anything Ghostbusters related I could find. So yes I did manage to track down the Xbox 360 version of the game and plan on playing the "official" third installment as soon as I can find the time to indulge my console.

In the meantime I was able to track down the hardcover collection of the first sixteen issues of the IDW series. This is a beautiful hardback book with a clever deboss on the cover art as well as high quality heavy-weight pages. If you're a fan of Ghostbusters in any way shape or form this is the version of the collection you want to pick up.

The stories and art are fun and carry on the tone of the movies. If you look closely you'll see references to the Real Ghostbusters cartoon series in many of the panels with creepy crawlies hiding in the corners of panels and in  other odd places. It's also fun to find references to the toy line in random places throughout the book.

I won't go into detail on the individual stories as I don't want to spoil any of the surprises. But the art and story quality of this collection is top notch. The second half will release in July and I can't wait to pick it up to complete my collection.
