Aeronautical Imperialis - Evil Sunz

Warhammer 40,000 – With a new edition of 40K on the horizon some of my clients have switched focus to some of the 40k-adjacent games that are available. Aeronautical Imperiallis was a game Forgeworld supported sometime ago, it’s been rereleased in plastic with some revised rules and what I think are slightly larger planes.
My first go at these is with the Ork Fighta Bomaz for the Evil Sunz Clan. I used contrast paints mixed with some traditional techniques to get the bright red color that cover’s most of the planes. From there I picked out a few details where they may have patched in parts from other planes.
Detailing them out I added the sun motif to the font of the planes and worked in the checkerboard pattern on the wings. A glaze of Gulimane Blue over the windows gave them the appearance of reflecting the sky.
These were really fun to paint and from the chatter I’ve heard from other clients is the game is good and I’ll have a few forces to paint up in the next few months.
