A detailed account of my various commission/hobby projects.
Warhammer 40,000 - Happy Ork-tober! I painted these earlier this year but have been seriously behind in posting here with my various projects. This project was a pretty simple paint scheme to make some dirty rusty Orks. I used a variety of contrast paints to give them varied skin tones and to block in the base colors before rusting everything up to make it look grimey.
Terrain – 3D printing continues to move forward leaps and bounds which means getting access to cool terrain and custom parts is easier than ever. Back in January Jose at funboardgames.etsy.com sent me a bunch of terrain to review. Sadly I’m just now finishing it up, my year has been pretty swamped and I’ve almost surpassed my total painted model count from last year (822) at the halfway point of this year (617).
Anyway this terrain is great and with minimal effort your can get you board populated with some cool stuff that fits multiple systems. The Gaslands and Star Wars themed crates fit in with most other systems to give a variety in shipping crate options. I used the same rust technique I’ve done with my other Necromunda themed pieces.
Warhammer 40,000 – Another one done. I feel like I must be nearly done with everything my Death Guard client might want to use in his force. Every few months he brings me another piece but at this point I’ve painted pretty much one of everything in the line with the exception of basic troops.

Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – Death Guard continues to be on the top of my commission list. It seems to be flu season or something with all the infected that are crossing my paint desk lately. The most recent batch include some of the tracked guns, a landraider and a group of Terminators with scythes.
