Ninth Edition Warhammer 40,000 - Terrain Matters

Warhammer 40,000 – Terrain is back! One of the biggest complaints about 8th Edition Warhammer was the lack of varied terrain rules. Now there’s a whole supplement about terrain, I didn’t pick it up yet but it’s nice to know it exists.

This batch is three containers two of which are armed. I’ve painted up many of these containers for Necromunda, well at least made them look really rusty and abandoned. With these I was asked to make them look more commercial.

I started with a red base coat and then applied a few dry brushed layers of orange to bring out the details. For the rust effect I used a sponge to lightly apply burnt umber and silver chip marks. The effect if pretty simple and by only putting it on the edges and areas that would see abuse, it looks more like a container that’s in use rather than something abandoned in the Underhive.
