Thousand Sons - Additions

A detailed account of my various commission/hobby projects.
Warhammer 40,000 - It seems a 40k army is never truly complete. As is evidenced by this Thousand Sons force.
Warhammer 40000 - I think the best use of Knights (either Chaos or Imperial) is as a supplement to another force. It gives you some really tough models and heavy firepower without the drawback of a small model count force.
Warhammer 40000 - The other Thousand Sons army I’ve been working on also continues to have more models added to it. I particularly love the spawn model.
Warhammer 40,000 - Sometimes it seems like an army is never finished. This batch of Thousands Sons is the latest addition to one of the two different forces I’ve been painting for the last year or so.
Warhammer 40,000 - I’ve been painting a ton of teal and gold lately, I have two separate Thousand Sons forces that keep getting more models added to them. The models are great but the level of detail on these puts a crimp in my process as they take forever to paint.
Warhammer 40,000 – Thousand Sons are a pretty solid army, particularly with big blobs of terminators that can be buffed up to be nearly impossible to kill. As such I seem to be getting plenty of these boys in blue coming across my table.
With this batch a Termite has been added to the force just because deep-striking these guys with a giant melta gun seems pretty good.
Warhammer 40,000 – Thousand Sons are a tragic story of the best intentions going horribly wrong. These space marines fell during the Heresy because their Primarch was attempting to tattle on Horus and in the process messed up the Emperor’s great plan. As punishment their home planet was destroyed by the Space Wolves and the chapter was declared traitor.
This chapter has a very Egyptian flair which influences the color scheme and model line. While the models are amazing looking they’re a real pain to paint. Putting in the time to do it right is totally worth it though.
Warhammer 40,000 – Happy New Year! I’ve never had the opportunity to play against the Thousand Sons in Kill Team, however I have a regular 40K opponent that plays them and he’s mentioned they’re tough to pull off in Kill Team. This set is part of a matched set for a travel Kill Team set, the other half consists of the Grey Knights I painted up last year.

It's an odd point level that my opponents regularly played so I tweaked my standard 2,000 point list to include an Archeron. My opponents chose to fight in the city, so my Knights weren't going to be as maneuverable and we opted to use the Open War Deck.

In the final battle I used a different Chaos force than I had been using to represent the Nightlords abandoning the system with the meager spoils they claimed just as Chaos re-enforcements meandered onto the scene. Given the once sided nature of the campaign it was inevitable that Chaos would turn on itself.
