Board Games – The sins keep coming as I work my way through the expansions for The Others: Seven Sins. This time around is Lust. When I first saw this models I was a little confused as there's nothing sexy about them. The typical super sexy girl/guy treatment doesn't exist which through me for a loop initially.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – The Landraider has gone from a useless points sink to an unstoppable killing machine in 8th edition. Vehicles in general have become more survivable and able to dish out a fair amount of pain for your opponent. I for one am happy to see them on the table again.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – Sometimes it feels like an army is never finished, which for me is great because it keeps my painting queue stocked and my brushes busy. As Chaos players learn the ends and outs of their new codex many units that weren't optimal choices before are seeing more play on the tabletop, especially standard Chaos Marine Squads. More durable that cultists and able to hold their ground these traitorous bad boys can be a force to be reckoned with.

Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – Daemon Engines are one of the unique things available to a Chaos Marine force. Most of the other vehicles they have are just the spikey equivalent to the loyalist counterparts. Daemon Engines are a unique blend of monster and machine.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – Shock troops are only good when you can get them across the board protected. When they don't have the option to deep strike they need a transport. The humble rhino is the cheapest way to get them there.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – Chaos Spawn are one of the creepier units in the Chaos Marine army. One two many "gifts" or disappointing your patron can result in becoming a gibbering monster. Of course it also can be the fate of anyone who attracts the Ire of a sorcerer so its important to have a few around.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – Khorne Berserkers and excellent shock troops, if you can get them into combat they tear through infantry with ease. Which means they're an excellent addition to my Night Lords force. In order to force sweet leadership checks casualties need to occur, these guys will deliver.
Read MoreKingdom Death – Slowly I've been getting a few models at a time to paint for the Kingdom Death Monster game. The game is really good, if not unforgiving, and should get better when the 1.5 book comes out.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – It amazes me that I'm working on two separate but very similar Black Legion Armies. There has been a long stretch where a Chaos force would rarely grace my table and now I have 3-4 in the works. Eight edition 40K has really brought he game back to a fun time with some really interesting tactical decisions.

As you can see by my plethora of Black Legion posts expanding your army is almost an addiction. Every new combo you find or cool model you see eventually finds its way into your army.
Read MoreBoard Games – Dark Souls is a successful video game series that was recently turned into the board game by SteamForged Games, the company behind Guild Ball. The models are pretty amazing for board game pieces and look great painted up.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – More models for the Black Legion, this time it's a pair of Forgefiends. These rarely taken models have seen a nice power bump with the Stratagems in the Chaos Marine Codex. For a cheap investment you get a solid basic gun and a large body that can soak up some wounds.
Read MoreWarhammer 40,000 – Knights are models that really draw my eye, they're huge and make a great centerpiece model for any force that can take them. The Forgeworld Chaos Knight kit is exceptional. The details and simple modifications to the basic model really take it to another level.
Read MoreBoard Games – I've been so busy painting lately I've neglected to post for some time. Now that I've caught up a little posts should be coming on the regular again.
While I still haven't had a chance to get The Others on the table, I have painted the majority of the models for other people. The latest batch is Wrath.
Read MoreBoard Games – After a bit of work I've finally finished the rest of the core set for The Others: Seven Sins. This batch has all the corrupted minions, the Hell Club and the rest of the Pride minions.
Read MoreBoard Games – Just a quick post today. The Scythe characters are wrapped up for the first expansion. These are a Scottish themed model and a Japanese themed model. The detail is ok for board games minis, but not quite enough to get incredibly detailed with the paint. The simple scheme looks great on the table next to the robots I painted before.
Read MoreHell Dorado – Man, if there was ever a game I longed to get access to it was Hell Dorado. I remember back in 2003 when I was playing Chaos Marines for 3rd Edition Warhammer 40K and trying to figure out an excuse to buy some Hell Dorado minis for my force just so I could have them. The fact that it was a French company made it hard to get them at the time and the rules weren't available in English. The day I walked into my regular shop and saw them on the shelf I picked up two starters and the rules immediately.
Read MoreKingdom Death – If you want to play a challenging game that has character development and civilization building Kingdom Death can scratch that itch. If your party manages to survive the various encounters with the nightmarish monsters that inhabit the world, they can scavenge the parts left over from the encounter to create gear, weapons and more to help them survive the next encounter. The cool thing about this boutique game is the core set includes miniatures for all the things you can make so you can actually build your characters as they are armed.
