A detailed account of my various commission/hobby projects.
Historical – Cowboys seem to be moseying on over to my painting table more often. This little set is based on the film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. I imagine my client is planning on using them in one of the plethora of old west miniatures agnostic games that are out there.
Board Games – Atlas bears the weight of the world on his shoulders. Which might explain why he’s so grouchy looking. This model is an expansion set for Mythic Battles that adds another character.
I really like this take on the Giant, four-arms with a saddle on his back just adds character.
Board Games – Tabletop adaptations of video games seem to be all the rage these days. This War of Mine is an Award wining adaptation of the video game which follows the exploits of citizens trapped in a war-torn city. I’ve painted several batches of models for this game and this latest set is for the Days of the Siege expansion.
Board Games - Zombicide Black Plague has several “Artist Editions” much like the other versions of the game they invite a guest artist to do character designs. This is one of those sets.
Board Games – I still haven’t had a chance to play Scythe but I’ve heard good things. The fact that I have another expansion on my table to paint confirms those good things.

Of course then came Doom and Quake and the plethora of of FPS games and now you have millions of people screaming at each other online about some kid sniping them. Read MoreBoard Games – Earlier this year I painted up some knights and fighters for the Crusader Kings board game based on the popular video game. The latest batch of models to cross my table is the Councilors and Inventions expansion.
Unlike the other pieces I’ve painted these aren’t force specific so they needed to be a bit more generic in color. As with the other models these are on the smaller scale so not as much detail as a 28mm figures I typically paint the people seem to be closer to 20mm scale.
Board Games – If you’re stuck at home co-op games are something worth having on the shelf. Sure you could sit and play a video game, but playing a single player board game is a unique experience that you should give a try if you’re missing your game night.

Read MoreBoard Games – Vordt is another expansion for the Dark Souls board game. It’s an interesting model as it appears to be some type of mount but is most definitely humanoid.

Board Games – Mythic Battles is a fairly large game. My client sent over just a small expansion featuring some of the monsters. These are pretty nice sculpts, the Basilisk and Manticore are exceptional, however the wolf is a bit lacking.
Board Games – Blood Rage is a game about Vikings, this expansion introduces the Gods of Asgard. Sadly I don’t know much more than that. The sculpts are ok and feel similar to Zombicide with a different skin.
Board Games – As a kid I really loved the Muppets and Jim Henson’s The Story Teller, I wasn’t a huge fan of the Dark Crystal or Labyrinth though. As an adult giving those movies another watch I can appreciate the films more and see why some people have so must love for them.

Read MoreBoard Games – Often I get large commissions for board game miniatures. Most of the time these are colored ABS plastic that very in the quality of the sculpts. Putting a little paint on them brings the overall quality of the experience way up in my opinion.
